President-Elect

Reports to: President

Term of Office: The term of office is one year beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year. An elected officer may serve only three consecutive terms or six years on the Board of Directors.

Purpose: The Beta Iota Chapter Bylaws state that the President-Elect shall succeed into the presidency at the end of the term of office and shall promote the purposes of the Society.

Qualifications: The President-Elect shall:

  1. Be an active member in the Beta Iota Chapter.
  2. Consent to serve in the position and be elected by a majority vote of chapter members.
  3. Agree to serve as President for a two-year term following a one-year term as President-Elect.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position are:

  1. Attend scheduled Board of Directors meetings.
  2. Perform responsibilities as delegated by the President and for the purpose of gaining knowledge about the local, regional, and international organizational structures and functions.
  3. Serve on the Finance Advisory Council as an ex-officio member.
  4. Assist with the completion and submission of the Chapter Key Award application (when appropriate).
  5. Assist the President in the submission of the online Annual Chapter Report (August of each year) and other required international and regional reports and documents (e.g., Bylaws).
  6. Collaborate with other members of the Board of Directors and committee, advisory council and task force chairs to facilitate continuity of chapter programs, events, and activities.
  7. Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the position of President-Elect.
  8. Attend and encourage committee members to attend chapter programs, activities, and events.
  9. Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the chapter’s strategic goals.
