Membership
Membership in Sigma Theta Tau International, The Honor Society of Nursing is by invitation only and is based on the following eligibility criteria:
Undergraduate Students
- Completed 1/2 nursing curriculum
- Hold at least 3.0/4.0 GPA
- Rank in upper 35% of class
- Maintain academic integrity
- Demonstrate leadership potential
Graduate Students
- Completed 1/4 nursing curriculum
- Hold at least 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Maintain academic integrity
- Demonstrate leadership potential
Nurse Leaders
The eligibility criteria for Nurse Leaders (registered nurses) in the community are to
- Must be a registered nurse, legally recognized to practice in your country
- Must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field
- Must have demonstrated achievement in nursing

Call for Nurse Leaders to Become Sigma Theta Tau International Members
Nurses who are not currently members of the The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, are invited to apply for membership. Eligibility criteria are:
- must be a registered nurse, legally recognized to practice in your country;
- must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field; and
- must have demonstrated achievement in nursing.
